Welcome to CleanerCat ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how information is handled when you use our macOS application.
CleanerCat is designed to operate primarily on your local device. Most features run entirely on your Mac and do not require any data to be transmitted outside your device.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app may process, how it is used, and under what circumstances limited information may be transmitted to third-party services.

File Deletion
When you choose to clean files, CleanerCat will either:

CleanerCat includes an optional AI-powered analysis feature that helps users better understand storage usage and cleaning opportunities.
If the user chooses to use this feature, the app may send a limited summary of scan results to a third-party AI service provider (Alibaba Cloud Qwen) in order to generate explanations or suggestions.

CleanerCat does NOT send:

CleanerCat will only transmit scan summary metadata to the AI service if the user explicitly chooses to use the AI analysis feature.

Users can decline this request and continue using CleanerCat normally without using the AI-powered analysis feature.
When the AI analysis feature is used, summarized scan metadata may be securely transmitted to a third-party AI service provider (Alibaba Cloud Qwen) to generate analysis results.
We guarantee that this third-party provider provides the same or equal data protection standards as we do. These providers process the data solely for the purpose of generating responses requested by the user, and the data is deleted immediately thereafter.
CleanerCat and its partners strictly do not allow these providers to use the data for:

Security-Scoped Bookmarks
If you grant CleanerCat access to specific folders, the app stores security-scoped bookmarks locally so the app can access those folders in future sessions.
This data remains on your device and is not accessible to us.
CleanerCat does not integrate with:

The only external service that may be used is the AI service described above, and only when the user explicitly chooses to use that feature.
CleanerCat does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
Since the app does not collect personal data, it is safe for users of all ages.

Any locally stored settings remain on your device and are removed when the application is deleted.
Metadata transmitted to third-party AI services is used solely to generate the requested response and is not retained.
